Chapter 2, Season 2 of Fortnite is now live and the new Battle Pass is filled to the brim with cool rewards, including some of the best skins we’ve seen in a Battle Pass in a very long time.

You can see a complete breakdown of the Battle Pass right here, but if you want the scoop on the skins keep reading. Each of these new skins have cool customization options and some have special bonus powers that are pretty neat.

We’ll start with . . .

Maya â€" Tier 1

Gear Specialist Maya

Maya is one of the coolest skins Fortnite has ever released, though you might not think it on first glance. That’s because her bonus is complete customization that’s entirely unique to you. Each week Epic is releasing a new Maya challenge that allows you to unlock a customization option for herâ€"and this is for pretty much every body part. Once you pick that option, however, it’s permanent. No two Mayas will be the same with 3.8 million possible combinations. Cool!

By week 10 your Maya will look nothing like this. Maya is also the only skin without a Ghost vs Shadow option, which may tie into the “story” this season. She has so many other customization options this hardly matters, however.

Agent Peely â€" Tier 1

Peely is back but this time he’s a sleek spy in a tux with a license to peel.

Most of the Battle Pass skins this season have Ghost or Shadow options. You unlock these by completing weekly challenges and have to choose which skin style you want to go withâ€"like Maya’s customization options, this choice is permanent. The exception to this is Agent Peely. You’ll unlock both his Ghost and Shadow options throughout the Battle Pass (white and pure black tuxes). So that’s neat. I do love Peely. I guess this is his “bonus” power, since he’s the only skin without one listed.

Ghost (Tier 34)

Shadow

I’m a fan of both of these, but I must say Peely really knocks it out of the park in that white tux. I guess it’s his perfect skin.

Brutus â€" Tier 25

Brutus is the third skin you’ll unlock with the Battle Pass and he’ll unlock automatically if you buy the premium bundle. He’s also the first skin you’ll be able to unlock Ghost or Shadow styles for. To do that you need to complete “All 18” of the Brutus’ Briefing challengesâ€"that’s this week’s batch of challenges which you can go over right here. The only problem? So far only 10 appear to have been released. I’m not sure if the other 8 are locked behind completion of those or if Epic will release them later. We’ll know soon enough.

Here are the other skin styles for Brutus.

I prefer Shadow on this one.

TNTina (as in T-N-Tina) â€" Tier 40

TNTina

TNTina has a cool special power: Toon Blast! She’s got a built-in Boom! emote that transforms her into a toon form. It’s the game’s “first cel-shaded transformation emote” and hopefully not its last because that sounds cool. All the skins have cool quirks this season which I really love.

Once again you can choose one of two alt-styles for TNTina, Ghost or Shadow.

As you can see, Shadow skins tend to be black-themed and a little darker while Ghost skins tend to be white-themed and a little nicer. So Ghost TNTina has “love” tattooed to her arm, while Shadow TNTina has bats. Frankly I prefer her normal skin to either one. That red shirt really pops.

Meowscles â€" Tier 60

I guess Meowscles is a fan-created skin which is pretty cool. He has a special built-in ‘Pump Pose’ emote because he is one swole kitty. Seriously this is the strongest cat I’ve ever seen. It’s a little frightening. Here are his alt-styles.

Clearly Shadow is better because your enemies will have bad luck crossing you.

Skye â€" Tier 80

I’m not sure how it works, but Skye apparently has a “traveling companion” named Ollie that can transform into a hat (presumably the one she’s wearing in this pic) a glider and a traversal emote. Cool? I guess we’ll see. Her two styles:

Skye bucks the black-vs-white trend and sports an earthy outfit for Ghost. I’m not sure I have a favorite here.

Midas â€" Tier 100

[Redacted]

Paul Tassi has a whole write-up on the tier 100 skin, Midas, which is a very cool skin with a very cool power. I’ll let him tell you all about it.

Secret Skin? Deadpool

Finally there’s what I presume will be the secret season-long skin which you’ll unlock with special challenges: Deadpool. Yes, for some reason Deadpool is part of the Battle Pass instead of a special Item Shop skin tied to a Deadpool crossover event. And that’s great!

Currently he’s hiding out in a vent in the hero base / main menu in a completely filthy hiding spot / bedroom:

Pretty gross. The first Deadpool challenge tasks you with finding his letter to Epic which is, uh, right there on the trash-littered floor.

And that’s all the Battle Pass skins for Chapter 2, Season 2. I must say, I’m a big fan of this batch of skins which is a good thing since the last couple seasons have, quite frankly, been a bit of a letdown overall.
